Health and Safety Information

Your safety and wellbeing is our priority. Please refer regularly to the and the  for emerging guidance for COVID-19 health and safety. Check the Aggie Health and Wellness site for up to date information on novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

NEW

At this time, the NMSU is directing employees and students to cancel or postpone any university-related non-essential out-of-state domestic travel. Check back regularly for updates and visit the Travel Information for NMSU Faculty, Staff, and Students page for more information. If you do plan to travel internationally, or if you have traveled in the last 14 days, please complete the  travel questionnaire. All international employees and students traveling under these circumstances should be following NMSU’s Administrative Rules and Procedures.
Symptoms are similar to the flu virus (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and can cause lower respiratory tract illnesses such as pneumonia or bronchitis. The Aggie Health & Wellness Center is working directly with the NMDOH following guidelines from the CDC for any suspected cases of illness that meet the risk assessment for COVID-19.

This assessment includes:

  • Has the person being evaluated traveled from China盈彩彩票官网, Iran, South Korea, Italy, or Japan
  • Did the person have any contact with laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19

If you feel sick:

  • Stay 盈彩彩票官网. Except for seeking medical care, avoid contact with others and do not travel.
  • Call your local health care provider or Aggie Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) 575-646-1512 to avoid exposing others. The New Mexico Department of Health has established a COVID-19 hotline at 1-855-600-3453.

Wash your hands—20 seconds with soap and water many times a day.

Cover your cough—Catch that cough and those sneezes in Kleenex and discard.

Avoid the public—For milder cases, you may be your own best nurse! Stay 盈彩彩票官网, chill, Dayquil, Nyquil, rest and fluids.

Visit the Aggie Health and Wellness prevention page for more information.
